Title

Mother Courage (theater production), 2002

Description

Color photograph of Grand Valley's 2002 production of "Mother Courage." In this image two red coated soldiers in comical masks interrogate a ragged young man. On the right a woman watches the scene and seems both scared and angry. She holds a wooden chalice. The costumes are 17th century inspired. In the foreground a platform made of wooden planks is resting on two empty wheels. In the background is old discarded trash, including multiple television sets, and large stone pillars. The musicians, their drum set, and other percussive instruments, though on stage, are divided from the actors by a mess of barbed wire.
