On the occasion of the 71ft1eth Anniveraary of
Congregation B 1Na1 Israel, it is a pleasure and a
privilege to send you personal good wishes and to
greet you on behalf of the people of Michigan.
In thene days when change and confuoion are rife
throughout the world, it ia heartening to find a
people whose devotion to the ancient faith of their
fathers remains unaltered through the centuries. If
eTery American pledged the same 1teadfa1t allegiance
to the principleo of liberty and freedom upon which
our great de~ocracy is founded, the future security
and velfare of tho United States would be assured.a
Du.ring the fifty years since Congregation ! 1Nai Iarael
was established, it has not only aerved ita members
well but has contrib11ted in no small measure to the
community life of the City of Muskegon. It ia 'A7

Russel H. Kirkhof Donation Tape 2. This video is in color with no sound from October 1, 1978. The footage shows Russel H. Kirkhof sitting at a table outside signing the donation paperwork along with two other men, one of whom is President Arend D. Lubbers. There are shots of Kirkhof smiling, and Kirkhof and Lubbers posing together and shaking hands. The video ends with clips of the garden. The footage is dark and blue toned.

The clip shows President James Zumberge at the podium as he announces the groundbreaking. The dynamite charge intended to serve as the groundbreaking does not go off as planned.
