In the photograph, demonstrators can be seen holding flags and balloons while a small group are standing on top of a dirt mound in the background. The peace rally took place as a part of the "Spring Mobilization to End the War in Vietnam" and assembled in Central Park before marching to the United Nations Headquarters building in Manhattan.
