Beatrice (Beattie) Koolovitz was born in Detroit, the oldest of five children in a Catholic family. After being introduced to other aspects of Christianity and religious history as an undergraduate at Western Michigan University, she continued her spiritual path and eventually converted to Judaism. In this interview, Beatrice discusses her personal history and conversion, as well as her memories of B'nai Israel and the Muskegon Jewish community.
