During this time, Bennitt leaves Nashville, Tennessee to rejoin Rosecrans_s Army of the Cumberland as it begins the Tullahome campaign against Bragg_s Confederates. Bennitt is promoted to regiment surgeon and is stationed in Murfreesboro. He reports on camp life, condition of patients, and local and national news.
