Certificate of discharge of Private James Abbott of Captain John Kelly Company of the 14th Regiment of Infantry Volunteers of the State of Michigan. Abbott, a farmer, joined the Regiment in Ypsilante Michigan, and was discharged with a surgeons certificate of disability in February 1862.
